If AIDS statistics do not change, Swaziland, Africa will cease to exist by 2050

"Mission Possible"
Beyond The Game
Swaziland, Africa Mission Trip
Sept 25, 2011

We have partnered with Chanita Foster’s Charity Beyond the Game & others to raise awareness and give support for a mission trip to Swaziland, Africa onSeptember 25, 2011!! Swaziland is one of two small countries within the land mass of South Africa that is about the size of New Jersey with 950,000 people and one of the few remaining African countries run by a King. They will over-night in South Africa and drive 4 hours to Swaziland. Swaziland is a place of GREAT need. If AIDS statistics do not change, the country will cease to exist by 2050.

Here are a few statistics about Swazi:
-The average life expectancy is 28.7 years.
-70% of children will be HIV positive by the time they are age 15
-56% of school age children are not in school because they cannot afford school fees (school is very inexpensive)
-Unemployment rate of 60%
-There are 120,000 orphans - 12.6 of the
-Population HIV infection rate is 44.6%

Despite their horrific circumstances, the Swazi people are gracious and extremely
kind. They are beautiful people. The children are happy and joyful even though
they have little to nothing to live on.

What they will do:
They will be visiting several different Care Points in different stages of development. A care point is a designated land area where orphans go to because they know they will receive a meal each day. Some children walk several miles each way to get to a care point. Some care points have playgrounds; some have a building for cooking, some cook out in the open air. The most developed care point has a building where kids are schooled in. Most are very primitive. They will also have a chance to do some home visits and interact with families in different stages of need.

How can you help?
They are asking for in-kind donations (see list below) and/or a monetary donation. If it’s on your heart you may write a check for the amount God puts on your heart.
Checks can be written to “Beyond The Game” and it is a tax write off!
Checks can be mailed to Beyond the Game Chanita Foster Po Box 311397 Atlanta, GA 31131.
Online donations, click on link: http://www.beyondtgame.com/?page_id=185

During the trip to Swaziland, Africa the Women will host events for the orphans and widows.

Atlanta Opera's High School Opera Institute is now accepting applications

The Atlanta Opera's High School Opera Institute is now accepting applications. This program is designed for high school voice students in grades 10-12 looking to pursue a career in music. Students will audition in September, and those selected into the program will attend workshops and coachings throughout the year with our faculty (Walter Huff, Beverly Blouin, Stephanie Adrian, and Laura English-Robinson). The students also attend working rehearsals for each of our mainstage productions as well as final dress rehearsals at the Cobb Energy Centre. The goal of this program is to not only provide the students with individual instruction, but to also provide them with the opportunity to see how a professional opera company works and the different components and stages in the process for a mainstage production.

You can read more about the High School Opera Institute program on The Atlanta Opera blog, in an article featuring the 2010-2011 participants.

Dallas, TX- DMX Live at The House of Blues | Aug 30

    Dallas, TX
Be Ready! The Most Highly Anticipated Concert of the Year is
here...The Legendary Multi-Platinum DMX will be LIVE at the HOUSE OF BLUES (2200 North Lamar St.) Tuesday, Aug. 30th. This Event is Subject to Sell Out so Get Your Tickets Now.
Earl Simmons (born December 18, 1970), better known by his stage nameDMX, is an American rapper (a member of the hip hop collective Ruff Ryders) and actor who rose to fame in the late 1990s. He became one of the most profound artist ever. He could move from spiritual anguish one minute to a narrative about the sins of the streets the next, yet keep it all part of the same complex character; sort of like a hip-hop Johnny Cash. The results were compelling enough to make DMX the first artist ever to have his FIRST FIVE ALBUMS enter the BILLBOARDS CHARTS at NUMBER ONE.

Following the deaths of Tupac Shakur and the Notorious B.I.G., DMX took over as the reigning, undisputed king of hardcore rap. He was that rare commodity: a commercial powerhouse with artistic and street credibility to spare. His rapid ascent to stardom was actually almost a decade in the making, which gave him a chance to develop the theatrical image that made him one of rap's most distinctive personalities during his heyday. Now the Rebirth of DMX is here in Dallas, Texas. Tuesday, Aug. 30th. BE READY FOR THE SHOW OF THE YEAR!!!

National Campaign "Lipstick & Lessons" for today's young ladies

    About Lipstick & Lessons:
The idea of Lipstick and Lessons was created by the owner of Just Nika Public Relations firm. Nika has
always had a passion to incorporate beauty and education. She feels that if each young lady is properly
educated on exactly how to combine these two elements, they can be empowered to conquer what we
know as womanhood. The campaign is created to provide young women the tools they need to reach
both long term and short term goals. The campaign will launch digitally, resulting in the registration of
thousands of young women receiving video and live workshops once a week for six weeks, bi-annually.
Some local and nation public figures (i.e. celebrities) will speak on the issues many young woman faces:
such as study habits, hygiene, wardrobe, college applications, self-esteem, and more.

    Goal:
Our goal is to raise awareness about the essence of beauty and education. We hope to inspire each
young woman we interact with to make a change in appearance inwardly and outwardly. We believe if

information andwill be expected to complete a simple homework task. Upon completion of the six week
program, one young lady, the one viewed as the most dedicated to the program, will receive a grand
prize- and possibly a meet and greet with the spokesperson during her six week course.

Shane Sparks, MTV 'America's Best Dance Crew' judge pleads no contest in sex case

Dang man...that sucks! And I really liked Shane....he was cool! I was hoping it wasnt true and he'd fight it. smdh

Let this be a lesson to every one...just because life is treating you right, doesn't mean that the past wont bite you in the @ss. It sucks when you you're doing well...but IT REALLY REALLY SUCKS when you are doing soooo well that the whole world knows you...then it happens!

His career/life will never be the same. Be cautious of your actions!

Shane Sparks, a judge on MTV's "America's Best Dance Crew," pleaded no contest to a single felony count of having unlawful sex with a minor under 16, prosecutors said Tuesday.

Sparks, a hip-hop choreographer who earned an Emmy nomination for his work on the show, had been facing eight felonies in connection with alleged sex acts.

Under the plea deal approved by Los Angeles County Superior Court Judge Martin Herscovitz, those counts were dismissed and Sparks agreed to plead no contest to the single felony. He will serve 270 days in jail within the county sometime over the next year and receive five years' probation.

Sparks also must attend 52 sessions of sex-offender counseling and not go near any female minors without an adult present.

Sparks was arrested in December 2009 at his North Hollywood home. Los Angeles police investigators said the choreographer committed multiple lewd acts upon a child, starting in 1994. Police identified the victim as a girl who was under 14 years old when the incidents began.
